Privacy Policy — CallBlockery

CallBlockery ("we", "our", or "the app") is a call-blocking application for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and your rights over it.

1. Data We Collect

CallBlockery collects only the minimum data necessary to provide its service:

• Phone numbers you add to your blocklist: Stored locally on your device only. Never transmitted to our servers.
• Blocked call history: A log of calls blocked by the app, stored locally on your device only.
• App preferences: Settings such as blocked prefixes and dark mode preference, stored locally on your device.
• Anonymous usage statistics: Only if you opt in. See section 2 below for full details.

2. Anonymous Usage Statistics

If you opt in, CallBlockery sends an anonymous summary at most once every 24 hours. This is the complete list of what that summary contains — nothing else is transmitted:

The random install identifier is not connected to your phone number, SIM card, Google account, advertising ID, or any device identifier. It is a random number, and if you uninstall the app it is permanently lost — a reinstall generates a new, unrelated one.

CallBlockery never sends phone numbers, contacts, call history content, the time at which any individual call arrived, your location, or any personally identifiable information. Data is used only to understand where the app is used and what kind of spam calls circulate, in order to improve blocking. We do not sell this data, we do not share it with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

You are asked for explicit consent the first time you open the app. Statistics are off unless you accept. You can turn them off at any time using the "Anonymous statistics" switch inside the app; if you do, the app stops sending data immediately.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifier.
• We do not read the content of your calls or messages.
• We do not collect your contacts or your call log.
• We do not collect your location. Country and language come from your device settings and your mobile network, not from GPS. The app has no location permission.
• We do not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs from third parties.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Permissions We Request

• Call Screening / Answer Calls: Required to identify and block incoming calls. We do not record call content.
• Notifications: Used to notify you when a call is blocked, and to keep blocking active.
• Contacts: Optional. Only requested if you enable "Block unknown numbers", so the app can tell whether an incoming number is in your contacts. The check happens entirely on your device and your contacts are never transmitted anywhere.

5. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your blocklist, blocked call history and preferences are stored locally on your device using Android's secure storage, and are never uploaded.

The anonymous statistics described in section 2, if you opt in, are transmitted over HTTPS and stored on a database hosted by Supabase, on servers located in the United States (Oregon). If you are located outside the United States, this means these anonymous statistics are transferred to and processed in a country other than your own. Because the data contains no personally identifiable information, this transfer cannot identify you.

Access to that database requires our administrator credentials. The key contained inside the app can only write data — it cannot read the database, and this has been verified.

6. How Long We Keep It

• Data on your device (blocklist, history, preferences) stays until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. You can clear the blocked call history at any time from within the app.
• Anonymous statistics are kept for as long as the app remains in use, so that the totals for each installation stay accurate over time.
• Monthly aggregate summaries are retained for historical analysis of spam-call trends. These summaries contain the same anonymous fields listed in section 2, with no additional information.
• If you opt out or uninstall the app, no further data is sent. Data already sent remains until deleted, and you can request its deletion at any time (see section 7).

7. Your Rights

Because we never collect personally identifiable information, we cannot look you up by name, email or phone number. You can, however:

• Withdraw your consent at any time, with the "Anonymous statistics" switch inside the app. This takes effect immediately.
• Request deletion of the anonymous statistics already sent from your device. Write to genioeur@gmail.com. To identify which records are yours, we may ask you to send the random install identifier shown in the app.
• Request a copy of the anonymous statistics associated with your installation, by the same means.
• Ask any question about this policy at the same address. We aim to respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

CallBlockery is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. If a change materially affects what data is collected, the app will ask for your consent again before collecting anything new.
